Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?

Age: Toddler/ Preschool

You can read this book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You see? by Eric Carle and then make a book with your child by having them draw their own animals like the ones in the book. You could also create a book that includes your family and/or friends. This may be something like "Momma, momma what do you see? Momma see's Daddy looking at me".

  1. I did a similar activity like this in the infant room that I worked in last semester. After reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear I created a book about all of the children in the room doing different tasks. The book created was based on the same concept seen in Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

  2. I also did one that included the students. We called it teacher, teacher who do you see? This helped the students learn each others names. I hole punched it so I was able to switch the pages around easily. During circle time we would have each child say who they saw.

  3. I have a couple of dozen bedtime books-stories, published and unpublished, traffic to read them is low, but growing. I just wanted to get the word out. They are fun and aid in reading development. www.readingtochildren.com
